Five years ago, a terrorist walked into the Islamic Cultural Center in Quebec City and murdered six Muslims and injured 19 more. Families destroyed. Our dear brother, Aymen Derbali, who ran toward the shooter to stop him, taking six bullets and being left paralyzed, chest down.
The federal government has announced that Jan. 29 will become a National Day of Remembrance for the 2017 Quebec City mosque attack in a move to honour the victims and express solidarity with the survivors.
We thank those elected officials who stand with us, on this day, and every day, as we fight Islamophobia.
